I wanted to reach out to you, our members, a little earlier this year. You may, as I have, been feeling a little uncertain about the future these days, and I wanted to make sure all of you knew that our Board and Elected Officers are going to work hard to keep our chapter informed and involved in the coming months.  Our regular in-person meetings will not be offered for a while, but we are going to provide you with the best on-line meetings we can each month.  We will be using the Zoom App and we will be having programs each month to provide you with interesting speakers and topics.

Our Program Chair, Kevin Hinkle is working diligently to find speakers for our meetings under these special circumstances, and Ed Bowes will be handling the technology portion of the Zoom Program.  You will receive an invitation to join the meeting by email at our regular meeting time, the first Thursday evening of the month at 7 pm beginning October 1st.

If you have not used Zoom before, it is easy to use and we will help you once you log in.  All you need to do is hit the link provided in the invitation and you will be connected to the meeting at our meeting time.  Once in, you can mute your audio, and unmute as needed to ask questions. Ed and I will help guide the meeting as usual. If some of you do not have a video laptop, you may also call in by using the phone number provided.  I am sorry that we cannot have the personal social time together as we usually do at our in-person meetings, but this will be a good way to see each other and keep abreast of our chapter events.

Please use our website to keep up-to-date on projects and speakers as we will be working hard to make it a good source of information for you. Our newsletters will also be sent out as usual and will provide you with more interesting topics.

I am hoping we will actually get more of you to join our meetings since some of you are still up north and some of you may find this easier to participate this way.  I look forward to “meeting” with you on October 1st!
